Why Join

Membership means more than a signature. It means becoming part of the political infrastructure that trains candidates, mobilizes voters, and puts Black leadership on the ballot across Pennsylvania — the same infrastructure Brenda Fraizer and the original founders built in 2006, still doing the work nearly two decades later.

As a member, you’ll:

  • Get trained in fundraising, messaging, and campaign strategy
  • Help correct and expand VoteBuilder data in your county
  • Support Black candidates running for judicial, row office, and local seats
  • Attend Caucus events, town halls, and regional trainings
  • Represent the Caucus at your county’s monthly Democratic committee meetings
  • Join a statewide network of organizers working from Erie to Philadelphia

This is the work Brenda Fraizer and the founding members set out to do: identifying leaders, informing policy, and giving the African American community in Pennsylvania a permanent, unified voice inside the Democratic Party. Every new member carries that forward.

Recruit and collaborate: Work alongside influential elected officials, activists, and organizers within the local Democratic Party. Together, we’ll build a dynamic network that sparks real change.
Organize impactful campaigns: Take charge of voter registration drives, phone banks, canvassing events, democratic rallies, and direct action campaigns. Let’s bring attention to local issues that need urgent action!
Embrace the Votebuilder ID Project: Get actively involved in this exciting initiative that corrects Votebuilder, ensuring accurate information for our members. Help us maintain and expand our membership to make an even bigger impact.
Master the digital landscape: Support our digital strategy by sharing powerful content on platforms like Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and more. Your posts will reach a wide audience, spreading our message far and wide.
Champion voter registration and get-out-the-vote: Participate in our comprehensive voter registration drives and campaigns. Together, we’ll empower every eligible voter to make their voice heard and create lasting change.

Attended monthly Democratic meeting in your county and introduce yourself as a representative of the PA Dems Black Caucus. Ask to be included in the mail distribution list for the county and also introduce yourself to area chairs, and club chairs so they will start to recognize you as a resource for the Democratic Party.

Thrive at democratic events: Attend local democratic events, regional conferences, and training sessions to become certified in fields like fundraising and advocacy. Sharpen your skills and become an influential leader in the democratic movement.
Mobilize your county: Play an active role in comprehensive voter registration drives in your county. Together, we’ll ensure that every eligible voter is registered and ready to make a difference.
Support black candidates: Be on the front lines, directly mobilizing black voters and providing support to black candidates. Together, we’ll strengthen representation and make our voices heard in the political arena.
Education is power: Attend our monthly online town halls, meetings, community forums, and workshops hosted by the National Democratic Training Committee. Together, we’ll educate the black community on the importance of political participation and its incredible impact.
